MOBILITY
This is a component of training that is overlooked and ignored by many trainers.  I believe in keeping my clients healthy and making sure their bodies are transforming.  Most injuries in sports are lower back injuries due to the lack of stretching and a weak core.  Each of my sessions will start with a 10-12 minute dynamic warmup and mobility exercise.  This not only reduces risk of injury, but also allows me to add in the correct exercises to build and define muscles and joints with resistance training.

SPEED AND AGILITY
Each session includes training specifically designed to improve the athlete’s quickness, footwork, running mechanics, sprint take offs, and several other training techniques.  I specialize in making athletes faster and explosive.  I work towards helping athletes take tenths off of their 40 time in a short period just by making simple adjustments.  Once an athlete forms and technique is corrected there’s only one other way to get faster, and that is to get stronger, which will lead us to the next important phase in training which is….

STRENGTH
I use traditional methods enhanced with the knowledge of exercise science and kinesiology.  This allows me to train hard but also keep my clients and athletes healthy while addressing strengths and weaknesses to increase overall strength and endurance.  I teach the traditional lifts with barbells and dumbbells, but also incorporate various Olympic
bodyweight exercises along with unilateral movements and core strength and stability exercises to develop what is known as “Functional Strength.”

CONDITIONING
Conditioning is often the most dreaded component of working out and training.  It doesn’t take talent to be in shape, yet so many people will overlook this critical aspect of their training because they find it to be challenging.  At Harris Sports Performance, my athletes and clients will end their workout sessions with challenging conditioning assessments that will help them the next day.  This will carry over to their sport or their everyday routine.  I don’t waste my client’s time making them run long distance.  I like to be creative when designing my clients conditioning circuits – I train the same way I expect my athletes and clients to train.  I GUARANTEE if you train with me, your conditioning will NOT be an issue.
